For Christmas breakfast we had French Toast. It was yummy!
I got a pair of nylon-y yoga pants from Aunt Mary. Weird because I have been wearing cotton ones and they are cheap and fade easily & I wished for nylon ones. The nylon will look less worn, in theory. This will be nice for going to the YMCA.
Kids have been playing in their room ever since receiving their gifts. This is the most time they have ever spent in there. Good indication that Christmas was a success.
This is the dollhouse that Josh built for Trinity. She was very proud to receive this gift. She couldn’t believe he MADE it for her.

I got a couple of necklaces on my site, enjoy!
Well, I am trying to not inundate this blog with tons of kid pictures but it is the holidays and it can’t be helped. We made some really delicious gingerbread cookies the other day and I let the kids decorate them. I have never made them before so I didn’t have a good recipe, but my friend Alex Nguyen(who is an awesome photographer) sent me a recipe that she had tried and tested over the years:

Gingerbread Cookies
1/2 cup margarine
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup molasses
1 egg yolk
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Directions
1 In a large bowl, cream together the margarine and sugar
until smooth. Stir in molasses and egg yolk. Combine the
flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves,
ginger, and nutmeg; blend into the molasses mixture until
smooth. Cover, and chill for at least one hour.
2 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). On a
lightly floured surface, roll the dough out to 1/4 inch
thickness. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters. Place
cookies 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
3 Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven, until
firm. Remove from cookie sheets to cool on wire racks. Frost
or decorate when cool.

You may have noticed that I sold out of all my jewelry! Never fear, while switching servers and fervently working on better features for MermadeBaubles.com I was making tons of new necklaces to adorn yourself with. I think I am subconsciously procrastinating on putting them up because I want them for myself! As always, if there are any custom requests, please feel free to email me.
I made some banana cake & muffins yesterday with the kids and made butter cream frosting. At some point, when this week is starting to bore me, I will bake some gingerbread cookies with them & use the left over frosting. I am making the edible kind. I wanted to make the decorative kind, but I have come to realize that I don’t necessarily enjoy baking as much as I had thought. I have some left over Halloween Hannah Montana edible candy bracelets that will make for nice decorations & I bought some mini m&m’s & today we bought a cheap rolling pin and a bag of spice drops. Should be fun. We also rented like 8 movies because they where a 1$ apiece for five days & with the next storm rolling in late tomorrow afternoon, we will likely be bored.
